Founded in 1882 by parish priest Blessed Michael J. McGivney, in New Haven, Connecticut, the Knights of Columbus has grown into the largest Catholic fraternal organization in the world. Among its charitable works, the Knights of Columbus has provided resources to allow the Vatican to broadcast worldwide, renovated major portions of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, and continues to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine and other disaster areas. Here at home, Knights provide coats for needy children, natural disaster relief, ultrasound machines and early child support for expectant mothers, and parish support in both time and treasure. Our mission is to support parish, families, and community, with particular
emphasis on supporting our priests and the Eucharist, the source and summit of our faith. You can learn more about the Knights at KofC.org.
St. Adalbert Council 15901 was established in 2014 and has over 40 members who are active in all of our parish life, including our Chaplain, Father Chuck, and as extraordinary Eucharistic ministers, lectors, ushers, servers, and volunteers at almost every parish event. We support seminarians with grants and provides scholarships for Catholic education. We provide spiritual and material support for Brother Knights and their families, as well as parishioners and community members in need. We encourage one another in practicing our faith and continuing our formation as Catholic gentlemen.
Any man who is 18 or older and who is a practical Catholic, i.e, practicing his faith in communion with the Holy See, is eligible to join the Knights of Columbus. We’re always looking for new members, new blood to invigorate our Council to continue our good work into the future. You can join online in about 15 minutes at KofC.org/Join directly or by contacting our Grand Knight. Membership is free for the first year, so you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain! You can be as active as you wish or your schedule allows, but you will reap the rewards from performing good works with Catholic men who are trying to make this world a little better while also attaining eternal salvation. Stop by our monthly general meeting the fourth Thursday of every month (except Thanksgiving and Christmas) after the 6:30pm Mass, starting about 7:15pm, in the John Paul II Room at St. Adalbert, and we would be happy to meet you and show you what we do. Feel free to contact our Grand Knight if you would like any additional information or have any questions. Thanks for reading this and supporting the Knights of Columbus at St. Adalbert Parish.
