Natural Disaster Collection

Natural Disaster Collection

Thank you for your great generosity in supporting our brothers and sisters in Houston Texas recovering from Hurricane Harvey. We were able to raise $4,364 to assist in their efforts in rebuilding. St. Mary of the Falls recently spoke to a parish in Houston who said that the number of families the parish is feeding has doubled recently. Our financial support will be put to good use there.

September has continued to see tragedy as many families’ lives have been changed by Hurricane Maria and the 7.1 Magnitude earthquake in Mexico. This week Bishop Perez informed us that the USCCB is encouraging dioceses across our country to continue to support those affected by these natural disasters. We understand that each of us only have limited funds and that many of you do not have the ability to give additionally.

However, we want to give those who are able an avenue of where to give. Monies from this collection will go to Catholic Charities USA (Hurricane Marie) and Catholic Relief Services (Mexico Earthquake) as they offer recovery assistance in these areas.

If you are looking to support these charities…

  1. Go give online using your checking, savings or credit card, go online to  www.osvonlinegiving.com/2993/Home/NewQuickGive  or through your online giving account.
  2. There will be an additional collection the weekend of October 7th and 8th
  3. Mail or drop off your donation to the parish office

Please make checks payable to St. Adalbert Parish and we will send one check for this support. Thank you again for your generosity and prayers for all of those affected by these disasters and those around the world.

Christ’s Blessings,
