40 Hours Devotion

An Open Invitation to Spend An Hour With Our Lord in the Presence of the Eucharist

Are you tired because of the burdens of your duties? Are you heavy laden with guilt from past sins? Are you trying to find hope and meaning in life? Do not lose heart---HE will refresh you.
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”

YOU MAY ASK---HOW DO WE PRAY A HOLY HOUR?

There is no one way to pray during your hour with Him. But here are some simple suggestions.

1.    Start by being still and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you.

2.    Profess with your heart gratitude for this moment, acknowledge His love.

3.    Thank Him for the prayers He has answered and for the crosses He has given you.

4.    Examine your conscience, ask Our Lord for forgiveness in the ways we have hurt Him.

5.    Speak to Him about everything…. your concerns …..your troubles…your joys.

6.    Bring with you a good spiritual or scriptural book to read or meditate on. Or take advantage of the books that will be provided in the back of the church.

7.    Know that reading should and will lead you to prayer.

8.    Pray the Stations of the Cross.

9.    Say your rosary and ask Our Blessed Mother for Her help and intersession.

10.  Finally, finish your Holy Hour, as you started, by asking the Holy Spirit to continue to fill you.

REMEMBER……IF YOU ARE GETTING SLEEPY…JUST STAND UP!
